Probably, today’s highlight for me was the visit to the Mercedes GP garage. During FP 1, we were escorted down to the Paddock by a lovely Mercedes employee called Rachel, and taken inside the garage to sit down and listen to the team radio. There was a thin glass panel seperating the very front of the garage from where we sat, and on the seats were silver Mercedes GP headphones. I sat at the far end, right infront of the panel and put on the headphones to hear the team radio (They were sharing data with Nico Rosberg). Just after I raised my head, I saw the 7-time world champion staring back. I will probably never experince such a shock again. He had his red helmet, water bottle and balaclava placed on the edge of the glass infront of us. I smiled at him, dumbstruck, and before he put on his helmet, he winked. A classy act, Michael Schumacher is. He, and that very moment did not only make my day, but affected my life. I can’t specifically describe how, but I’m sure I’ll always have something to remember whenever I think about important happenings and experiences.
